Q: How long have you been involved with CWLI?

A: I have been a member of CWLI for the past 10 years. This will be my second year on the Board.

Q: How many IMPACT events have you attended?

A: I traveled extensively for work for a number of years, but attended every IMPACT event that I could if in town.

Q: What inspired you to become involved with IMPACT?

A: The past speakers have inspired change in the trajectory of my thought process, which resulted in personal and professional growth. I want to help to do the same and believe that we have the inner strength to write our own narrative, regardless of where we are in life at this moment.

Q: What are you most excited about concerning IMPACT 2020?

A: Ms. Dede Halfhill, our Keynote speaker. She is unlike speakers we have had in the past. She embodies Dr. Brene Brown’s philosophies and teachings of courageous and vulnerable leadership.  The fact that she is a high-level military leader in the USAF who has instituted and teaches these philosophies in a male dominated world intrigues me.

Q: What do you see as the value of the annual IMPACT event to members and nonmembers alike?

A: Ms. Halfhill is a highly respected female military leader who has been able to change the narrative of what leadership looks like in a male dominated industry.  This is a speaker who should appeal to women and men alike. Members and nonmembers.

Q: What are you most looking forward to with this year’s keynote speaker Dede Halfhill?

A: I think that she will be the impetus to change in the way we see leadership.  Our world is redefining itself in so many ways. She will provide greater expansion and depth to thought in the realm of textbook leadership.
